CURRENT MISSION Busy doing a MSc degree in Early Childhood Research at Uni Leipzig - a dream come true which I’ve worked towards for the last ten years. It’s also my first time in Europe which makes this an incredibly exciting time for me! Next year I will travel around Europe as much as time and budget allows. I love to explore new places, meet the people, eat the food, learn the language and the culture. Visit beautiful beaches in many corners of the world! ABOUT ME I am excited about traveling around this great planet of ours. I want to have as many different experiences as I can, all the while learning, laughing, loving and shaking my head at the weird wonderfulness of it all. And take pictures as I go. I love music, photography, reading, movies and missioning around finding out new things. Every day should be an adventure and a journey! I don't like living too far from the ocean. I love snow and rain. I don't do too well in extreme heat and humidity, and I'm afraid of heights, even though I try to challenge myself on this every chance I get. PHILOSOPHY Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. If it harm none, do what you will, understanding that you are creating yourself with every thought and action. Smile at people, you never know how much that simple act might mean to them. Don't judge people - you don't know the whole story.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experience was horrifying and I'm still quite wary. I have hosted some truly fantastic, wonderfully interesting people, however. Nothing like sharing a meal and a drink and talking about traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books

Whoah.. It would be easier to list what I don't like....
I read everything, but I like to be challenged, and intrigued, and transported to another world. I love music. My roots are in blues and rock, so that is where I am most easily found. I don't generally like electronic music, and jazz, but there are exceptions. I love movies. But I don't love romantic comedies and only watch these with my girl friends when they insist. Give me a good horror or suspense movie, action, comedy, drama, epic - favourites would include Fight Club, Avatar, The LOTR movies, The Big Lebowski, Juno, and pretty much anything by Quentin Tarantino and Tim Burton.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Relocated to a place where I couldn't speak the language, didn't know the culture and had no friends. Taught me that I can do anything.
Grew up in Africa (well, the Southern tip) and survived some light mauling by a leopard when I was 10.
Bungee jumped off Gouritz River bridge when I was 19.
