Hello!
My name is Louella, I'm 22. I recently completed my university degree but am not ready to settle into an office job just yet. I just finished up 6 months work on a super yacht in LA, and am using the savings from that to travel until my money runs out.

I am from NZ, and love anything outdoors. I am happiest during the summer, when you can just take the car and go to a different beach every day, lay in the sun, read, swim, surf, go for walks etc... I am also very passionate about the environment and sustainability. I love thrift shopping, old music, music festivals, meditation, the TV show Friends. I love going out for food or drink, and exploring quirky cafes and bars. I am also trying to learn how to skate if anyone can help me with that haha

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Most of my travels I am catching up with friends or family, but I will be a solo traveller for some parts. I love meeting new people, and doing what the locals do in a city - I really don't like the overly touristic stuff. I love exploring all the hidden treasures and talking to the bartenders and shopkeepers. I think when you stay in hotels and visit the main attractions in a city, you don't get the authentic experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music would have to be anything pre 2000's, from Elvis, to Frank Sinatra, to all the old and gold classics. That being said, I also love anything summery and lighthearted. Coming from an island nation, with a lot of sun, we do summer time music very well :)

Books would definitely be Michelle Obama, Becoming! I am very into biographies at the moment

I don't watch movies often, but if I had to pick one it would be Into the Wild. I also have a soft spot for Pretty Woman ;)

I am very passionate about the environment and am always happy to share my findings about being sustainable with people! (But am also okay with holding onto my thoughts if you are not that way inclined)
