About Me

I am currently journeying across the world, planning to take 5 years to do it.
And having done studies in environment in general and climate change in particular, I want to travel with no plane between countries, and minimalism style in general.
This means sailing for the moment, and it really is an incredible experience, for the relationships you create with others, and the epuration it brings to mind ⛵

And as I love to propagate thoughts and smiles, I am eagerly looking forward to share experiences and time in land as well, with all those that wish to!!! 😁

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To travel differently and meet people interested in sharing with others, be it time or space.

I also dream of meeting awesome people in my travels, and invite all of them at my place when I finally settle, wherever it turns out to be. That's one more reason I'm here, I hope to meet some of these people through CS.

Interests

Reading has always been a very basic pleasure for me, perhaps my strongest inclination all things considered.
Environment-wise, I became vegetarian at age 7, I have studied and worked in pollution and climate change, so that really means something to me 😛
And since I rediscovered sports as a fun part of life at 15 y.o., I have practised a lot of them, and my favorite remains running!!!
As for my love of travels, well, I guess it self explains 😁

Music, Movies, and Books

I guess for music I might be the boring guy, I listen to music according to what I have to do or how I want to feel, and that means rock, jazz and classical (and a lot of movies soundtracks too). I listen to it mostly for the state of mind, not for the actual music.
One of my best friends is a musician tough (and I was one myself, ages ago), so I might not be a totally lost case :p

On the other hand, I have read (really) a lot.
So it is almost too hard to choose and decide on something which might resonate with more than a few people...
I guess if you are into fantasy or SF books then we are definitely on the same page. Not to say it is the only thing I read (far from it). But it is the style to which I go back to with the most pleasure when I spend too long away from it.
And for examples I would go for any days, I really loved The Name of the Wind, by Pat Rothfuss, almost all the books written by Brandon Sanderson, and all the books of Pierre Bottero.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am living it now!
I am taking 5 years to travel without plane, see awesome places, meet different people, and generally live experiences.

Other than that, last year I have raced a 273km and 5000d+ biking competition, a 24 hours triathlon challenge, and several trail running competitions of 50km and more.
I am not really competitive by nature, but I do like challenges 😁

Teach, Learn, Share

First and foremost, I am really interested in what you have to tell or teach me 😋
About your country, the way you live, what you think of history, something you are passionate about...

As for what I have to share, I am currently travelling across the world trying to live according to my values, and that means no plane for me as mentionned above.
And I'm nearly 2 years into the trip, so I'm sure I will have interesting stories to tell 😁

On another note, I have been extremely lucky to learn aikido with outstanding teachers, so if you are interested in martial arts, then I will be most happy to share.

And in France I was practising sports in general and triathlon in particular (swimming, biking, running), and have specialized in treating muscular injuries, so I guess I can give you a few advices on that if you're an athlete.
I can easily teach you a bit of French or English if you wish as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Discussion guaranteed not to be boring, and also cooking from France, should you wish to taste some 😋
