About Me
Just arrived in Malta, working in a small backpackers hostel via workaway.
Recently completed my degree in Social Policy, which is the study of society, families and groups and the causes of any social problems and what the government and welfare system can do to fix it - Through a combination of Sociology, Economics and Political theory.
I have previously made two trips to SE Asia visiting Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore and Myanmar covering a total of 6 months. Within Europe I have recently travelled to Norway, Ireland, Scotland, Germany and most recently; Austria, Netherlands, Denmark and Romania. I loved every moment of it and have made multiple friendships that I will cherish forever. Along the way I've managed to work/volunteer in a hostel in Denmark, as well as Romania and also a show horse training farm in Germany. Last summer I travelled around the US too!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Of course, the price-saving factor plays a part, but also comes with unique experience and perspective on wherever I'm staying. There is much more to be gained from couchsurfing than a hotel!
Interests
I'm generally interested in most things, everything's interconnected somehow. I enjoy other people's enthusiasm when talking about their own interests, particularly if it's something I don't know too much about.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music-wise I'm very focused on British in general but usually rock, rap, grime. I usually have on classical music when reading or studying. I also love a drunk cheesy singalong from time to time too haha.
Movies, again quite a few British movies that aren't quite Hollywood, usually quite a gritty realism. Shawshank Redemption, Dumb & Dumber, Forest Gump, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest are first to come to mind when thinking of some that would definitely go into my top 10 or so!
One of my favourite books I've ever read is 'Soledad Brother - The prison letters of George Jackson'. If you ever need some sobering inspiration this is a good place to go to.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Tough question.
First thing that springs to mind is when I was in Cambodia we managed to hire a tuk tuk for a 100 mile journey which everybody said wasn't possible. Turned out it was! We had an amazing journey with the driver and where we went to had a beach, which the tuk tuk driver it turned out, had never been in the sea before! Obviously, we all jumped in and had a swim and it was amazing to defy the negativity of everybody who told us we couldn't make the journey and to then share that special moment with the driver who took us.
I'm sure I have plenty more :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can go over some basic photography if somebody is looking to learn a bit. I'll be carrying a small amount of equipment with me that I'll be happy to share how to use etc. Happy to take any photos too. I'll also have a small laptop with me that'll have some editing software on too.
