About Me
Hi, I'm Louis! Born and bred in the West Midlands, UK, but just getting into travelling and have a yearning to see more of the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to meet new people and share knowledge and experiences, and possibly stay with locals who have a bit of local knowledge!
Interests
Much of my free time is taken up by my music and filming. I love writing my own stuff on piano, guitar and am in the process of learning accordion and tin whistle. With my friends I create short films as a hobby, sometimes participating in film competitions and festivals. Whether or not I choose to eventually study one of these interests at university, I hope to have a career in them one day! Besides this I also love to meet people and explore new or familiar places, having an appreciation (thought not a vast knowledge) of history and architecture.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love challenging myself with the arts because a lot of the music, movies and books I love most have taken me a long time to acquire a taste for.
Lately I've been enjoying the works of Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Ben Johnston, Sunn O))), Kendrick Lamar and Debussy but still love all my childhood bands like The Pogues and Bob Marley & The Wailers.
Film directors I like include the Coen Brothers, Peter Greenaway, Peter Jackson, Thomas Vinteberg and Nicholas Winding Refn.
My current favourite authors are Stephen King, William Burroughs, H.P. Lovecraft, C.J. Samson, and James Joyce. Other books I love include Snow Crash, The Wasp Factory, The Color Purple, and I Am Legend.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I haven't (yet) achieved anything quite as amazing as many people on here, but hope to in my lifetime!
Annually I partake in 24-hour video gaming marathons for charity, and in 2015 raised approximately $350 for childrens hospitals in Canada.
I've also had experience teaching children Music, English and Drama which has been great fun.
I've also somehow managed to organise and create no-budget films with friends whilst studying or working. But don't ask to see them- I'm still learning!
Teach, Learn, Share
I don't have any University-level qualifications in music, literature, history or film but am always happy to pass on my knowledge to those who are interested, or expand my own with the help of those more knowledgable.
