We are a journalist/documentary filmmaker, and a cyber security/tech professional, currently Canadian expats living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our favourite part about traveling is meeting new people and getting to explore a place from a local perspective, so we tend to keep going back to the same places (like Iceland and Russia).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We Couchsurfed across Russia in 2011 and made lifelong friends with a few of the people we stayed with (though we used Louis's mom's account)! We even went back to Russia in 2012 and got to see them again.

For us CouchSurfing is all about the community. We have met some fantastic people through this medium, we find most of our most unforgettable travel moments happen through people we met on CouchSurfing, and we hope others can say the same about us when we host! :)

Interests

Our shared interests are the Polar Regions, renewable energy, sustainability, world travel, education, internet humour, boardgames, and watching documentaries/TED Talks.

Louis's interests include computer things, Photoshop design, anime, coffee, beer, getting upset about injustices in society, math, gaming, reading manga, acting and dancing.

Olivia's interests include hiking, camping, photography, cooking, baking, green tea flavoured things, writing of all sorts, reading, not being a hipster so essentially being a hipster, puzzles, and making videos.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After a long day of horseback riding, we stopped at a nomad's ger as the sun was starting to set, and we were welcomed by an old woman who shared cheese and tea with us, letting us pitch our tents nearby! Her hospitality was incredible!
