About Me
Hello!
My name is Louisa and I just graduated from college (Indiana University, go Hoosiers!) 3 weeks ago. Since then, I hopped on a plane at LAX with my dreams and my cardigan, and headed over to Hong Kong, Macau and Beijing to visit an old housemate who has been working there.
During my travels I met a bunch of people who had been couch surfing, and I figured I would give it a try!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have two internships starting this week in NYC, one with NPR and the other with a non-profit that promotes energy efficiency in urban areas. Even though I'm from the New York suburbs, I don't know that many people int the city, and it would be really cool to kick it with some native New Yorkers, learn more about the city, and make some new friends before I figure out a more permanent living situation.
Interests
Yoga (I'm trying really hard to get good!), graphic design, Game of Thrones <3, traveling, hiking, Indian food, reading food blogs, listening to NPR and podcasts like Serial & This American Life.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite band is called Dispatch, but I love all music-- particularly anything folk or jam band-y.
I have two favorite guilty-pleasure genres of movies: disaster (think: Armageddon, Independence Day) and romantic comedies that take place in England or India (Love Actually, the Holiday, Bend it Like Beckham, Eat Pray Love, etc.). I know, it's really specific.
Grew up on Harry Potter, which will always be my all-time favorite book series. I'm also a huge fan of historical fiction and memoirs ( I just read an amazing memoir last month called Infidel, by Ayaan Hirsi Ali).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiked across the Great Wall of China last week!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to learn about all the cool, off-the-breaten-track things NYC has to offer.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I make a mean scrambled eggs and am pretty good at baking, so if you like your morning protein or delicious dessert, I'm your girl.
Also, I specialized in graphic design in college so If you want me to design you something (nothing too big, obviously) I'd love to share my art with you :)
