I am currently doing a gap year after school and before university. In this time I want to see and learn as much as possible of and about the world and the people. My plan is to do a lot of work and travel to do so.

My current trip is a at-least-4-week-long research trip about skateparks, spots and the general skateboard scene in Barcelona.
The trip is sponsored by a foundation called zis. Traveling on my own with a limited budget is part of the challenge as well as a few other things I have to do. But I could choose my destination and my topic so here I am in Barcelona researching one of my favorite things: skateboarding

I think it’s an amazing possibility to meet and get to know people while traveling, exchanging stories and really learning about the country you’re in, not just the famous sights.

The budget of my trip is to small to afford hostels so I am dependent on people who let me stay with them for a short amount of time.

I would love to learn speaking Spanish. All my knowledge of Spanish comes from Duolingo so far, I have a long way to go haha
In return I could teach you a few words of German if you were interested.

I am also trying to learn as much as I can about the skateboard community in Barcelona, about spots and parks and what else there is to learn.
I would describe myself as an intermediate skater and have been giving lessons to beginners so if you’re new to skateboarding and interested in tips and tricks I could teach you a bit! But as I am still not as good as I would like to be and would love to get some advise from anyone who’s good at skateboarding!
