About Me
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing to meet local people where I travel and stay. Whilst I can't currently offer a place to stay, I hope to be able to in the not so distant future! I love to travel and explore both close to home and further afield. I particularly love the opportunity to meet people and to hear their stories!
Music, Movies, and Books
I am a film and book lover. I love to watch a variety of genres including action, romance, drama and thrillers. I would say that my favourite film is 'The Constant Gardner' starring Rachel Weisz and Ralph Fiennes.
I read both fiction and non-fiction. In terms of the latter, I am interested in psychology and wellbeing. When it comes to fiction, I love modern American literature, in particular African-American writers such as Maya Angelou and Toni Morrison. One of my favourite books growing up was 'Fire and Hemlock' by English children' author Diana Wynne Jones.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of my most treasured experiences is a month spent working as a volunteer in Cusco, Peru. I witnessed a very different way of life whilst living on site at the girls' orphanage and I felt the privilege that I've grown up with in the UK, a realisation which posed its challenges and its opportunities. I also had the opportunity to trek the Salcantay trail to Machu Picchu, ride horses in the mountains, take a turn on a zip-line and go whitewater rafting, not to mention meeting some brilliant and inspirational people along the way.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to talk and hopefully we can exchange stories, have a giggle and who knows maybe even a tipple!
