Below needs an update ;-) - it's been 2 years since I wrote this...

Born and raised in Germany I worked in corporate until my mid-twenties, then booked a one-way ticket to Sydney to escape. My world trip turned into working in startups across Australia, New Zealand and the US for the last 7 years. The highlight being to help build an Australian company from scratch that went public in 2015. Now a wee tired of working for others, and looking to establish my own business online.

I've travelled lots in between - drove a Toyota Landcruiser 35,000 km around Australia, living in the bush for long stretches of time, some of it just by myself. Explored some of South East Asia and some of my own family's history in Indonesia (my mom grew up there in the 60ies). Lived the vanlife in New Zealand for a while after converting my own utilities van into a cute little home on wheels while working in Auckland for a year. My last project was walking on my two feet from South Seattle to Vancouver Island, I managed to do 250+km on foot, blisters included.

Right now I call Vancouver home, will be living on a little boat in the Harbour from November for a while once I return from my home visit in Europe. However - the cheap stopover in Iceland was too tempting, so I'm doing a little detour to explore a new country!

I love to connect to people, places and ideas. I've hosted a fair bit while living in Auckland - so now I'm hoping to be able to reach out to some locals at my next destination: Canada, US & Central and South America.

I have been told to be exceptionally empathetic, and people often tell me their dark secrets and worries and I love to talk through solutions with words of comfort and encouragement. But you don't have to! ;-)
