About Me

Hi! I'm a friendly, open-minded and easy-going French girl! I might be roaming through Europe and seeking a place to sleep at but above all I'm eager to meet you and learn about your culture and stories!
I'm a people's person and to me "There are no strangers out there; only friends you haven't yet met" - or mostly.

I'm interested in (and practicing) drawing, writing, photography, modeling, sculpting (stone, wood, polymer clay, resin) (to create jewelry and other craft things), cooking, dancing, climbing, free running, playing guitar and I'm veeeery interested in developing my skills in the art of massages and blogging.

I have great projects based on what I love most: meeting people, learning about others and ourselves, sharing stories, helping (and healing) and art-related stuff... I'll tell you more about it when we meet. :p

I love to party but won't annoy you with it if it's not your things, I'm not a smoker (but might smoke at parties), tea or coffee I like both, and I'll love whatever pet animal you might have (even snakes).

I currently live in L.A. in a place where I can't host anyone so most of the time now I'm the one seeking couchs to crash at while meeting cool buddies! :) (Or just people to hang out with wherever I am at the moment!)

You're welcome to check my Instagram @aurora.wanderer to see a bit more of me. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting new people is one of my favorite things in life, experiencing new cultures, sharing stories, and learning and teaching as much as I can so that we all grow from these encounters. Also nothing is more magical than connecting with like-minded people, across borders, despite cultural differences and references...

Also I grew up in a bed and breakfast environment and also worked on many occasions in the hospitality and tourism sectors. Welcoming people, getting to understand them and help them as much as I can is something engraved in my DNA I think lol

I've been on Couchsurfing for a little while now, welcoming people at my place in Paris when it was possible, also using it when I was traveling to Japan, Amsterdam and Estonia, to find places to stay at a few times and to make new friends there.

I've only had at least great experiences with Couchsurfing when not amazing, and crazy but true... that's how I met my husband!

Interests

I've always been keen on drawing (and painting digital art for book covers etc.), reading, and even writing (I did play a writing RPG online for 10 years... a bit nerdy I guess).

These last 2 years I've been more interested in photography, as I was in Paris and had more opportunities to take cool shots and also do some modeling for friends.

Last year I got back to learning guitar, playing and singing at the same time, and even started lindy hop (swing dance) as well as bouldering, which I really enjoy practicing while still being a noob.

Also I love walking and I'm planning to hike as much as possible to discover the area! If I have enough time I'll also definitely go back to drawing because I could make real money out of it and it would be nice to at least give it a try. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a very wide span of styles. And the only ones I don't like are those I don't know well enough yet or I've not been introduced to correctly.

So far the music I'm listening to most of the time is either jazz or chill lofi stuff as a background to whatever I'm doing, or indie rock when I'm more listening to it.

As for books I can't deny I am very keen on fantasy and never stopped reading Robin Hobb's! I also love Patrick Rothfuss and Scott Lynch but I'm far from closed to other styles.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Deciding to go places abroad on the spur of the moment
Did a camper van road trip with 2 best friends to Las Vegas and Grand Canyon
Made best friends on Tinder
Jumped in a frozen lake under the snow at night in Estonia (alcohol might have been involved...)
Won a photography contest
Ran a 5km race while I've never been a sporty person
Going to USA for 5 weeks when I was 14
Leaving my appartment to young refugees for the holiday season
Wrote my first poem age 5
Took a midnight bus to join in London a guy that I had just met (now my partner for life)
Posing for the cover of a series of books
Wrote a little book on RPG
Cut my hair and shaved half of it to force myself to feel good and beautiful without this asset
Got some of my nude photography work as a model exhibited (about body acceptance)

...
Its hard to find "one amazing thing I've done", I've never climbed a crazy badass mountain so far or dived in ocean-blue spots but this will come, and life is full of amazing achievements and stories. ^^ To each their owns!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share with you everything I know; cooking, languages and cultures usually being the most interesting things about a cultural exchange but we can also share on our hobbies, work (I've been a sales manager in the music and events industry in Paris, a webmarketing specialist, a website creator, a translator and more) and personal story of course.

Also I am eager to roll up my sleeves and give a helping hand on whatever you might need and I can be useful for, including babysitting, petsitting, gardening, and even helping with small construction activities... Whatever makes it work for all of us!
