About Me

Hi ! I'm Louise, 26, currently living in Beirut. I am a film programmer, cinema is a huge part of my life. I have one leg shorter than the other, a lot of beauty spots/moles, and I drink a lot of white wine & coffee. I like to dance weirdly, and to wear two buns at the same time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travelling is not just about taking the plane and walking somewhere, it's also about meeting and interacting with people. That's why I moved to Lebanon after a quiet life in France : to meet people and bound. Also, like every students, I'm always broke. That's the last reason, but it is still a good one.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like Bach, Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem, Glenn Gould, Girlpool, Frank Ocean, Puccini, Leonard Cohen, and others. A lot of techno as well.
I read Albert Camus (he's my favorite), Nietzsche, Simone de Beauvoir, Margaret Atwood, Kafka, Cioran, and a lot more. I grew up with books all over the house, describing my tastes when it comes to literature is really hard.
I can watch Ingmar Bergman over and over again, Harmony Korine, Kubrick, Carlos Reygadas, and John Cassavetes (among others of course). I am also a huge fan of genre films mainly from the 70s/80s.
When it comes to art, I fell in love with Amadeo de Souza Cardoso last summer. I also enjoy Claude Monet, Paul Klee, Matisse and Yves Klein a lot. Lo-fi illustrators and alternative printing processes are big interests as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved to Lebanon without knowing anyone here, and managed to built this incredible nest full of incredible people.

Teach, Learn, Share

The only thing I can teach others is part of my brain : it's informations, thoughts, funny moments, questions, and smiles.
When it comes to learning, I'm super curious about basically everything.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My travelling experiences, my knowledge, my banana pancakes recipe, my love for cinema and literature. As said before, my brain ! (:
