I've been living in Madrid on a working holiday visa to learn Spanish and travel, and am in the process of moving to the UK to return to work. I joined couchsurfing to add some more local colour to my travels!

I'm still relatively new to Couchsurfing so my profile is a work in progress.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I've recently joined couchsurfing as I've enjoyed the experience of meeting up with friends from Australia or people I've met on my travels when I'm in their home cities.

I'm also ~sometimes~ feeling a bit too old to be staying in hostels, and since I'm often travelling alone, I am looking for new ways to meet people when visiting a new place.

Música, películas y libros

Music: at the moment, lots of Spanish/Latino music. Queralt Lahoz has been one of my favourite discoveries in Spain

Books: right now I'm reading 'Thinking, Fast and Slow' by Daniel Kahneman and 'Un Cuento Perfecto' to practice my Spanish, plus listening to a handful of audio books

Movies: my favourite is 'Labyrinth' but otherwise it depends on my mood

Held a tiny baby wombat in Tasmania

Volunteered for a social business in India that sells solar lanterns to people living in urban slums

Being an auntie to my nieces and nephew has also been amazing

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I can teach a little about Australia, my work in climate change and some basic Spanish (if you speak Spanish, please don't judge me )

I like to learn at least a little bit of the language of each country I visit. I also like to do cooking classes, so far I've done them in Thailand, Greece, France and Spain.

We can share a go-to dance move if you have one. In Sydney, I used to do hip hop dance classes and have tried a few salsa, bachata and reggaeton classes during my time in Spain.
