ABOUT ME

In Canada living it up since May 2010, I made some great friends while exploring a fantastic country. Managed to even get a second year out of it thanks to the Irish government.When I landed in Toronto I thought that's where I would spend most of my time. But that all changed when I moved to the Northwest territories to volunteer as a dog handler with a kennel of lively huskies! After spending a summer being eaten alive by mosquitoes and a fairly chilly winter, the rewards of living in the Arctic paid off with experiencing the "WOW factor" everyday through Dog sledding, cross country skiing and general exploration of the Arctic landscape. In February 2011 itchy feet took hold and it was off again traveling in a southerly direction towards Vancouver. My trails took me to some lovely places where I was hosted by some great fellow couch surfers.Vancouver is where I stayed for a bit. Moved accommodations a total of four times and will move again before my planned departure next month. It seems around this time every year the jittery need to travel takes over. I come from the Northwest of Ireland, county Leitrim. I went to University in Dublin for four years. Then moved to London for a spell before heading to work in Japan for a big electronic component manufacturer. I'm pretty easy going and have a genuine interest in meeting different people.

PHILOSOPHY

"Work hard, Study hard & above all Play hard" A motto used by a company I worked for which I adopted as my own motto too. I think if you do all three you can be satisfied that not a moment in your life was wasted.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far been hosted by fantastic people who are kind and generous with their time. Couch surfed in Yellowknife, Jasper and Victoria. All great experiences.

Interests

Im quite a social person and love spending time with my family and friends.I love movies and reading, my tastes is questionable in both though.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all movies and enjoy nothing more than watching a movie. If I had to choose a genre I love fast paced action movies or psychological thrillers. When reading fiction books I like horror, mystery or thriller. Not fussed on romance but will read them when I cant get my hands on anything else. Currently my favourite novels are by Stieg Larsson and James Rollins.For non fiction I love a good history or psychology book. Also, anything by Malcolm Gladwell or Jared Diamond is a winner.
