About Me
Hi,
my name is Louise, I'm 23 and I live in Lille.
I was born and raised in Le Havre (Normandy). I studied communication for three years and moved to Bayonne (South of France) for the last year. I then moved to Lille (North of France) where I worked as a PR/communication manager for a roller skate association for almost two years. I've somehow realized that sitting behind a desk 8hours a day wasn't for me and that communication/PR are definitely not a field I want to work in, so I quit my job. I worked in a bar/restaurant and then in a vietnamese fast/food before leaving Lille to go live the dream in Sweden.
In November 2017, my boyfriend and I quit everything we had to go help some friends who were starting a sled dog company in Swedish Lapland. So, now we live near Älvsbyn, Norbotten and our main job is to take care of the 43 dogs on the camp, cook for our customers and do anything else that has to be done on the camp while our friends are away on the sled with their dogs and customers. Unfortunately, since we're already living with 4 other roomates, I can't host anyone at the moment.
For me couchsurfing is about sharing time and experience with people from different cultures. Therefore, I don't host people during the week, since I don't have time to spend with my guests between work and my hobbies, plus, most of the time, I'm dead tired and just want to be alone. Anyway, if you come over the weekend, I like to spend time with my guest and get to know them so I prefer to host people for more than one night (but if I have a very good feeling about you I might host you for one night, already did). Also, I don't accept last minute request, neither people who don't read my profile. I mean your going to spend time at my place and with me, and I am going to find some time for you, the least you can do is to take 5 minutes to read about me, I'm not a free hotel.
I've hosted people from : Belgium, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Russia, Latvia, Honk Kong.
I surfed in : Netherlands, Germany and Denmark, Ireland.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to all kind of music and I'm always happy to discover new artists.
I'm not a big "movie girl", even if I'm working on it. Here's some i've seen recently (and liked) : The Big Lebowski, Clerks, Dogma, Snatch, Trainspotting. And some I've seen less recently but still liked : The Lord of The Ring, Fight Club, Requiem For a Dream, Seven, Django, Prisoners, and others i can't recall right now.
When it comes to books, my favorite book is La Horde du Contrevent by the French author Alain Damasio (It has not been translated into English yet, unfortunately, but if you are fluent in French or Italian, you should definitely give it a try). I am also a lot into GRR Martin (A song of Ice and Fire, of course, but also Tuff Voyaging and Wild Cards). I also like (in no particular orders) : 1984 by George Orwell, Inferno by Dan Brown, Down Under by Bill Bryson, Life by Keith Richard, Band of Brothers by Stephen Ambrose, Live by Night and Shutter Island by Denis Lehane, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Level 26, S. by JJ Abrams, The Book With No Name, The Human Beast (Emile Zola), To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, 1000 years annoying the French by Stephen Clark, Chasing the Scream by Johann Hari, and so on... (The list can go on forever...)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Waking up at 3 AM, hike for 1H30, freeze my ass off, and watch the sun rise over the French Alps.
Doing a solo roadtrip in Netherlands, Germany and Denmark (and Malmö), in August '16.
Go to a sauna in Sweden, with a beautiful view on the sea.
Pack our cats in our car, take everything that fitted in the car and leave everything else behind and move to Swedish Lapland.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to learn so I will be pleased to learn anything from you ! I'm not very good at teaching but I would love to try if you are interested in something i can help you with!
I can take you to my climbing gym and teach you the very basic stuff, if you're interested !
We also have 4 skateboards in our house, so if you want, we can go for a ride, if I have time (I would definitely not teach anything considering my level, but we would definitely have some fun).
What I Can Share with Hosts
If I am available, I will gladly come with you to show you the city, if you want to.
If I have plans (seeing friends, going to the beach, go cycling, go to a park, stuff like that), I will invite you to join if possible, but I don't mind if you say no and prefer to do your own stuff in town.
We have several books in our house, most of them in English, so if you want to take a look at them, do it (as long as you don't take them when you leave haha).
And yeah, this part is just a copy/past from the "What I Can Share with Guests" in My Home section, cause I'm lazy and don't know what else to say (there's a few other thing in the "What I Can Share with Guests" in my home section, concerning some things more "house-related", so you might want to read it anyway).
