ABOUT ME

Depending on the time and place, the day and/or weather, I fancy myself an old timey swashbuckler, a scholar, a pirate, a cowboy, and many other things; overall, just a general seeker of adventure and vibrancy. I am either on the move, traveling, exploring and meeting people, or I am absurdly domestic, apron-clad cooking and sweeping, and front porch reading and the like. I'm a fiercely proud New Mexican, Santa Fe being my place of both birth and rearing but love living in Portland. Being a lifelong desert dweller I have always gravitated towards water, rivers and waterfalls and such things, and many weekends can be found splashing around in nearby watering holes, rehydrating over time. I live for engrossing books, gut-kicking views, colorful characters, excellent late-night conversations, foot stompin' tunes, witty banter and dirty jokes.

PHILOSOPHY

I am currently in the process of self actualizing, which includes: trying to not be a bourgeoisie dropout, taking a lot of long bike rides to beautiful spots, saying yes more often, eating less meat, striving to take action, to be decisive, to do what I set out to do; to kick ass. During the year I go to school for History and also take a number of stimulating and ridiculous P.E. classes (fencing, hunt-seat horseback riding, skeet shooting, squash, sea kayaking etc.). I also write short stories, prose poems and non-fiction journalistic explorations and plan on riding that train straight to hell or where ever else it may stop.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

1. Standing atop the Rock of Gibraltar at dawn with the Mediterranean to my left, the mountains of North Africa across the watery straight ahead, the Atlantic to my right, and the Iberian Peninsula and a large pack of hornery Barbary apes behind me.
2. Stepping back onto the train platform in my hometown of Santa Fe after a 9 month, one direction trip around the world.
