Overview
About Me
I am a globe trotter with a science and artificial intelligence addiction! I am fascinating with asking the question "How does this work?"
My love for science has always been my passion since I was a kid, and my love for traveling was born when I studied abroad in Lund, Sweden during my undergraduate degree! Since then I have not been able to stop traveling and have experienced many amazing places and met even more amazing people in my mission to see and study the world!
Overall, I would describe myself as a friendly, outgoing person, who can get along with anyone. I am quite comfortable in completely new situations (What traveler isn't?), and LOVE meeting new friends everywhere I go!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want a way to meet locals in the amazing places I visit and see the hidden gems of the day to day life of the cities outside of the tourist traps.
I also want people to show people the amazing places I’ve found in my city and the best beaches to go that are away from the crowds. I love playing tour guide and would love showing you around.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like to read anything that is nonfiction, or that tells history from a non-euro/american-centric view point. When I am not reading, I am constantly listening to audio books while, driving, cooking, getting ready.... I am obssessed with learning!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I co-founded a chapter of Global Water Brigades on San Diego State University where we all recruited 12 people to go to a rural Honduran community and worked alongside community members digging trenches and laying pipes for a water system. This community's water was contaminated with sulfur and it was causing a lot of health problems. I was honored to have worked alongside such a motivated and inspirational people that lived in that village.
It changed my perspective of what I am actually capable of doing to help this world, and is an experience that I reflect on often to make decisions in my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am conversational in Spanish and Portuguese, and would love to converse in the langauges or help those that are currently learning them!
I love having political discussions. I am quite liberal myself, but I grew up in a very conservative family so i understand many views , and I like to hear ALL perspectives because I believe that no viewpoint is perfect, and that in order to have the most productive world, you must understand those who think differently than you.
I am obsessed with science too. I have a bachelor's and masters in Physics, and am now a data scientist who works with machine learning and artificial intelligence to help brick and mortar stores compete with online retailers.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would bring souvenirs from California!
