About Me

ABOUT ME

Help me Doctor, I am addicted to ... travels ! I don't even know how and when it started but I feel like I always wanted to see the world and how people live. I was 21 when I took a flight to Sri Lanka, 3 weeks after the end of the war, and it totally changed my life. Since then, I've never stopped moving !

I work in tourism which allows me to enjoy sea in summer and snow in winter! And holidays in between!

PHILOSOPHY

Choose your life.
"When we find inspiration, we need to take action for ourselves and for our communities. Even if it means making a hard choice, or cutting out something and leaving it in your past. Saying farewell is also a bold and powerful beginning."
- 127 hours : between a rock and a hard place

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started couchsurfing in 2009 and used to have a shared profile with my ex-GF. We had great experiences both hosting and surfing.
I have some more on my own, excluding all the couches I took over at friends', family members' or total strangers'!!

Interests

Travelling, obviously. I find an interest in every country - landscapes, people, cultures, food (I love food!) Sometimes all of them in the same time.
Hitch-hiking is my favorite way to travel, and I love free camping.
I am amazed and sometimes a bit scared by the power of Nature. In the same time, I never feel better than when I am in it, hiking, sailing, skiing.
I am very interested in art in general (cinema, music, litterature - would love to learn much more about architecture, photography or painting), cooking, oeunology, DIY, and so many other things that you'll find out by yourself.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a movie eater when I have time (not really often those last months/years though...) and kind of like every types of cinema. Always open to discoveries!
I am really into some TV series as well (Homeland, House of Cards, Orange Is The New Black)

I love live music and try to go and see as much concerts/festivals as I can ! Few names on my playlist : The XX, Lana Del Rey, Alice Russell, Imelda May, Beirut, Sharon Jones, Bon Iver, Patti Smith, CocoRosie, Janis Joplin, Blondie, The Fugees, No Doubt, Ike and Tina Turner, Morcheeba, America, Mayra Andrade, Angus and Julia Stone, Johnny Cash, Jamie Lidell, Damien Rice, Billie Holiday, David Bowie, Amy Winehouse, Elvis Presley, Gary Clark Jr, The Sonics, The Kills, Neil Young...

I read a lot and very different things, from Antoine de Saint-Exupery to Hubert Selby Jr. One of my favourite book is "l'écriture ou la vie" by Jorge Semprun.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I volunteered building a wooden boat in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada, and ending up 6 months later with it in Spain, after crossing the whole Atlantic ocean!
