About Me

//Not accepting guests due to a roommate, but happy to meet up!//

Travel has always been a "go big or go home" concept for me. I was bit by the travel bug May 2014 when I went on a roadtrip from Las Vegas down the length of California crossing over to the Grand Canyon and back up to sin city.

Fall of 2015 - I took a two-month backpacking adventure across Europe. I bought a ticket flying into Ireland and out of Turkey - giving myself a blank canvas in the middle to fill. It will go down as one of the best and craziest adventures I've ever had.

2016 I spent time along the beaches and jungles of Costa Rica. Also adventures to music festivals in Chicago and Austin.

2017 I began the year in Puerto Rico and fell in love with mofongo. In the fall, I spent three weeks on the road starting in Vancouver, BC followed by exploration of Seattle, Portland, and several National Parks (ie, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, and other various national parks in Utah. Needless to say my tent-pitching efficiency is now through the roof.

I'm down to earth - just looking to experience life. We can sleep when we're dead. I want to experience every place like a local - find the underground music scene and that weird hole in the wall cafe that doesn't have a name on the door.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I tried out couchsurfing for the first time while I was in Europe for two months. I made lasting friendships and now have friends across the world. It absolutely blows my mind. I loved being with a local and learning about their culture, so I'd love to offer the same opportunity.

Interests

I can find interest in pretty much anything if you talk about it the right way. Kind of like jokes - they all have the potential to be funny (even the most eye-roll worthy ones) if the delivery is on point.

Everything from tattoos to the history of a place to what you ate for breakfast this morning.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music ranges from The Beatles to Manchester Orchestra to Rainbow Kitten Surprise to Tracy Chapman...I'm a big fan of discovering small bands. One example: Darlingside.

Movies range from: Requiem for a Dream to Disney's Alice in Wonderland to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Books: Mainly dystopian novels like Brave New World, 1984, and Wool. (And I can't deny Harry Potter, I mean...come on.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I pursued a career editing in the documentary film without first pursing a bachelor's degree. 5 years later and it’s worked out!

I ziplined upside-down across a canyon in Costa Rica.
