About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Living the dream.
ABOUT ME
I'm a dreamer. I'm driven but easily distracted. I love beautiful views, and can't stand being far from the mountains for too long. I studied International Political Economy, which is a fancy way of saying I have way too many interests and they kind of focus around international mumbo jumbo and how the world works. I've also taken a number of psychology and history courses. I nearly minored in Spanish. I speak German.
PHILOSOPHY
"Of the gladdest moments in human life...is the departure upon a distant journey into unknown lands." -Richard Francis Burton
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I haven't surfed recently, but I had a wonderful experience doing so in southern Mexico!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted a few people while living in Colorado, but Colorado Springs isn't really a huge hub. Also, I lived with roommates for a while and wasn't able to host much during that time. I'm looking forward to getting back into it!
Interests
I love hiking, be it in forests or deserts. There are so many gorgeous sites in the world and I hope to take in all of them that I can. I like to pretend I'm a decent cyclist. I enjoy flailing about in the water. I like puppies. :) I'm awful at frisbee, volleyball, and a number of other sports that I nonetheless enjoy. I'm pretty decent at soccer, actually, and love it.

Music, Movies, and Books
"That's why I like listening to Schubert while I'm driving. Like I said, it's because all his performances are imperfect. A dense, artistic kind of imperfection stimulates your consciousness, keeps you alert. If I listen to some utterly perfect performance of an utterly perfect piece while I'm driving, I might want to close my eyes and die right then and there. But listening to the D major, I can feel the limits of what humans are capable of - that a certain type of perfection can only be realized through a limitless accumulation of the imperfect. And personally I find that encouraging."
Haruki Murakami (Kafka on the Shore)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One sight that I will never forget is overlooking Bratislava from a mountaintop castle. One direction oversaw the old city central, complete with gorgeous cobblestone paths, churches, and buildings. Across the river was a wall of Soviet pseudo-architecture. It was an interesting statement and I'm not sure I'll ever fully be able to explain it.
