About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Traveling through South America for as long as possible! I prefer quality of time spent in a place over the quantity of places I visit...most of my stories have little to do with the places I´ve visited, but rather the people I met.

ABOUT ME

I grew up on a farm in West Virginia and love my roots ın the country, but always had the feeling there was more to see ın the world. Going to university in Washington DC opened up my world and introduced me to people who inspired me to travel. My first experience abroad was and exchange program in France where I traveled a bit in Europe and I was hooked! I originally planned to continue studying after college but after Europe I realized another type of education awaited me. Traveling through Central and South America, I have not only learned another language (something I never considered I had the aptitude to achieve) but also many, many cultures and skills from fellow travelers and citizens alike. I hope to continue traveling for as long as possible all over the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Do what makes you happy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently traveling but excited to host when I settle down.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined couch surfing before beginning this trip through South America. My first and, so far only, CouchSurfing experience was as a +1 with a CouchSurfer I met in Montevideo, Uruguay and traveled with to Florianopolis, Brazil. What was supposed to be a few days of sun and sand turned into 3 weeks. I felt badly staying on so long and feared I would get a reputation right off the bat of being more a CouchLIVER then Surfer but at some point I stopped being a guest and became part of the household. I know it´s cliche of CouchSurfers to say that they met some lifetime friends through sleeping on a couch...but it is absolutely true!! I am a full believer in CouchSurfing and can´t wait to host when I finish traveling!
