ABOUT ME

Hello, my name is Robbie Mast and I come from a small town in the central Sierra Nevada mountains in Northern California. I grew up on a small ranch where my parents grown grapes and make wine, raise sheep and try to make the world a better place.

For the past two years I have been travling, working, wwooinfg and couch surfing with some amazing people. I have cycled a few thousand miles in USA and have made my way to New Zealand for the year.

As much fun as I have seeing beautiful sights and going to amazing places, what I've realised is that the most important thing about travling is making connections with people. That is what you remember and what keeps me motivated to travel around this amazing world. Couch surfing makes this so easy and

I can be pretty shy around some people and am useless in big crowds, but I love talking about just about anything. I try to always be positive, and think that love can make this world a better place.

I'm an INTJ on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator assessment.

I'm about a 2.5 on the Kinsey Scale

Trying to live a very simple life with the least amount of "things" as possible and as many positive experiences and connections with people as I can. Loving unconditionally everone I meet, and hoping that my life can make the world a beter place.

Surfing and hosting as much as possible. Encouraging others to get out there and make friends with stangers wherver they are.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have has some of the best experiences of my life couch surfing. You never know who you are going to meet, and the generosity I have been shown gives me hope for the future.

If I surf with you, I want to help you. I've helped build a deck, install flooring, build a chicken coop, plant vegetables, build platers etc.

Interests

Cycling, farming, cooking from scratch (If I stay with you I promise to make you something incredible) Building/recycling/ things, ceramics - interior design, graphic design, architecture, sustainable everything! Singing, dancing, theater. Backpacking, sailing, working hard.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like most movies, and have a big weakness for good art direction. Really like watching documentaries on just about any subject. Check out Baraka if you've never seen it.

Groovy Music - stuff that makes me want to dance and feel good. Talking heads, Queen, Daft Punk, Cat Stevens, The Doors, Fleetwood Mac, Muse, Paul Simon, Prince.

Love to read everything. Been reading a lot of history lately, but am trying to make up for my teenage years when I was stuck to the computer by reading as many books as I can now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One day I cycled out my front door without any kind of plans. A week later I met a guy cycling up the coast and decided to join him. Ended up cycling a thousand miles with one of the most amazing, inspiring people I have ever met.
