ABOUT ME

Our Story: We are Marcel and Paula a Dutch and Brazilian couple. We met in Amsterdam in 2003. Travelled around the world in 2009-2010. Got married in 2012 and saved up money again to do a South America trip in 2013-2014. Doing everything which we couldn't do in 2010. So we are travelling again and hoping to meet some wonderful new people on the way!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We have been hosting and surfing. We hope CS will contribute to our travels, and introduce us to interesting people and places!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have met some great people with couch surfing and and hosting. We also visited some couchsurfing meetings which are great fun! Some people we met we now consider friends which is awesome!

Interests

Traveling, and always curious about the next destination.

Marcel really loves music. Always like to hear some new music of all styles. Still collecting cd's and vinyl. Often goes to concerts and festivals.
Outdoor sports and photography!

Paula always like to try some new cooking recipes, dancing and partying!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Into The Wild, Motorcycle Diaries, Fightclub, Braveheart, The Town, Millennium Trilogy and many more.

Also good travel documentaries. Like Long Way Round, Long Way Down and everything of Michael Palin.

Music: To many to mention them all. I´m open for all kinds of Music. I´ll drop some names here: Alt-J, The XX, Charles Bradley, Common, Sepultura, The Verve, Jamie Woon, Pixies, PJ Harvey, Burial, Chromatics, Deftones, Groove Armada, Jedi Mind Tricks, Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Vedder, Lana Del Rey, The Roots, Portishead. And so many more.

Books: We are not big readers. Actually we only read on holidays, finally we have some time for it. Marcel likes to read about intresting people like Che Guevara, Ghandi and loves to read travel stories.

Paula likes to read novels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing in our lifes was making a world trip for almost 10 months,

After years of planning and saving money. It’s was finally time to go! Some of our friends and colleagues didn’t believe we would still go. But finally we saved enough money and we booked our world ticket. And our dream came through.
