About Me

CURRENT MISSION

explore, learn, meet beautiful people.

ABOUT ME

I'm a friendly and honest person with a constant desire to discover new places, cultures, food, music and people all over the world! I can be a bit of a science nerd and love speculating over scientific theory verses a karma or the power of the mind. I love coffee. and yoga. and trying to get somewhere without a map. I really love sunflowers and sunshine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I really like couchsurfing for the ability to get the local scoop on a city, but also just for some of the awesome travellers you can meet, share stories with, and gain inspiration from. I've stayed on a few couches (on floors, in mudshacks or treehouses) but am at home at the moment, so I'm happy to share my couch with the travelling community in Melbourne.

Interests

I make friends easily and love going to festivals and live gigs, or just chilling outdoors in parks or on the beach.

Music, Movies, and Books

i find it so much easier to enjoy a book on a train or bus to a foreign city; or in a cafe/ park surrounded by locals and far far from the distractions of daily life at home. these are the last few books i've read... Bill Bryson's 'A Short History of Nearly Everything'; Coelho's 'The Alchemist'; Siddartha by Herman Hesse, Shantaram, Love in the time of cholera, for whome the bells toll... and of course Lonely Planet... lots of Lonely Planet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1) Living with the locals while volunteering in the rainforest in Costa Rica. The animals and scenery we got to see were incredible and living in such a small community with only one generator shows you a whole other side to the country and culture that cant be experienced on a tour.
2) La Tomatina - a 2hour tomato fight in a town just out of Valencia, Spain. Spain in summer is full of activity and oportuntiy but this still stands out in my memory as a ridiculously fun day surrounded by parties. I still have my tomato stained shirt, and a heap of friends I met and still keep in touch with!
3) creating a new routine and sense of normalcy - learning spanish and practicing yoga in Xela, Guatemala, living in a homestay with a local family and hiking the volcanoes and around the incredible countryside on the weekends. i cant wait to go back.

Teach, Learn, Share

I live in a great suburb with lots of beautiful people and beautiful things to do and see. Sunday ciders in the park, road trips to the beach, or a night out to Hip Hop Karaoke, an event that my friends run on the first Thursday of every month in the city.
