ABOUT ME

The usual story - teacher wanting to travel, so ends up living on the other side of the world to save on airfares!! Currently living in Dubai (well - Sharjah actually) and enjoying the Middle Eastern lifestyle quite nicely. I love meeting new people who are like minded individuals and this is one way to do it.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy - well... lets see. My main this is to be true to my friends, family but mostly myself. To respect myself and people in a way that i feel proud and just. To have fun whilst at the same time have an understanding of other people's views and beliefs. Finally, I hope that the people I cross paths with leave with memories of fun and frivolity.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After many fantastic experiences of couch surfing whilst travelling around europe, I have was able to host some people back in Australia. Now I am in the Middle East, and ready to host again!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have had fantastic experiences couchsurfing. Have stayed with a range of fantastic people from single girls and guys to couples and even a family or two! All are so welcoming and inviting. I was able to host some wonderful people back at home in Australia and can't wait to do the same in dubai.

Interests

I have several wide and varied interest. Obviously being a teacher, I enjoy working with children. I have a passion for swimming and spend many an evening at the pool. I love to go out with friends, socialising at the pub or seeing live bands. A weekend bruch is often on the cards (look up dubai bruch - its slightly different to what you expect) and breakfast in Jumeriah is a weekend favourite.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - I am definitely a disney fan (comes with the kid territory), most british humour - Monty Python, Death at a Funeral, Keeping Mum. I love my chick flicks - how to loose a guy in 10 days, Sweet Home Alabama. I also enjoy my classics - Jane Austin etc.
Music - My style is so wide a varied that I really don't have a style. I like most music as long as it has a good beat and tune to it.
Books - Don't get me started. I devour books - almost inhale them! Biographies, crime fiction, romance. I am a big fan of James Patterson and Bryce Courtney. An it also has to be said that i am captivated by good Children's writing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing would have to be sky diving over New Zealand. It was such a thrilling morning. We were up at the crack of dawn. The nervous energy as we were going up in the plane and then the adreneline rush as we jumped out. It was so good! Plus we had great scenery as we came down.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching - well it is my day job. I guess the most important thing in life is to be true to yourself. If you do not feel comfortable doing something then ask yourself - am I just scared or is there a real reason not to do it. If it is just because you are going out of the rhelm of comfort, then leap for the new experience and try!
