ABOUT ME

I am an outgoing and happy go lucky person who loves to meet new people and explore new places. I have always wanted to travel however didn't have the chance to do it properly until I was 26. In my early 20's I was settled in a long term relationship with a mortgage and two cats. I loved that part of my life but it came to an end. It was sad, however it also meant that in my late 20's I was able to head out into the world to enjoy all of its history, cultures and diversity. It has been so exciting!

I turn 30 this year, so I have felt that it is time to settle a bit. Thankfully I have scored myself an amazing job as a remote worker. So I can mix being an adult with a steady job and travelling. Can't believe my luck!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I am in the UK I will be happy to meet for a drink and to show people around. I live an hour from London and visit it regularly so though I do not live there I can show people around very easily (tourist or non tourist spots). I am also happy to show people around various areas in the South of England (Winchester, Southampton, Reading, Bath and others). Unfortunately I am unable to host at this point in my life, though my parents have helped out travel friends in the past.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have frequently stayed with people I have met while travelling or socialising. However, I have only officially "couch surfed" twice in New York. I hope to do more with further travels. I love the idea of meeting locals rather than just fellow backpackers. I think you get to see and learn so much more that way! I've never been one for following the normal tourist routes and so love to see hidden gems.

Became a scuba instructor despite having suffered huge panic attacks when I very first started diving :)

I am both avidly learning about photography but also love to help people to improve their own photography. I also really enjoy learning about peoples lives and the places they live in.
