ABOUT ME
I love to read, write, and travel, but traveling has been limited to date due to fact that I have a child. However, we have done some fun things together. She has just finished high school and a new chapter is starting in my life - exciting!
PHILOSOPHY
I just try to enjoy life every day and find ways to do what I love most. I don't care about making a lot of money, although it would be nice to earn enough to pay off my massive student loan debt. However, the jobs I take tend not to pay very much, so I don't see that happening anytime soon. I'm debating moving out of the country either temporarily or permanently - to where I'm not sure.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I like sharing with others, whether it is hospitality, knowledge, whatever. Over the past year or so, I have hosted several awesome people and made some new friends. Couchsurfing is the only way to go!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've surfed on a few couches in my time, through connecting with friends of friends. A few summers ago, I hosted a series of guests in my home. Several folks ended up at my house both before and after the Rainbow Gathering held nearby. It was a great experience for both me and my daughter.
Interests
Reading, writing, hiking, camping, bicycling, canoeing, listening to music, meeting interesting people, watching ted.com and other related websites. I have not had cable tv for over 5 years now. And until about one year ago, I did not have internet at home. It was a budget issue, and I had it at work, so I didn't need it at home.

Music, Movies, and Books
too many fav authors and books to list. so many i have never read, but am trying. I also really enjoy nonfiction. Just recently discovered author Cory Doctorow, who writes mainly scifi and makes all of his books available for free on the internet under creative commons license. opensource is definitely our future. it seems like many older people just can't wrap their heads around this idea of sharing
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I birthed a child at home and wish more families would at least consider this option. It was too amazing for words to describe. But if you want to know more I will be glad to share. I also played an active role in an adoption and that changed my life.
