About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Learn more about how to be a "real Quebecoise" - share everything that's great about life with like-minded people.
ABOUT ME
Married with 2 kids, and happy to share what free time I have helping others explore Quebec. I have a love of languages and culture; I studied Japanese throughout high school and college, but have had to give it up temporarily to focus on my French. Can't live here and not speak French! Did 3 years of college and have 2 diplomas - would love to have a degree in something "useless" but interesting someday.
PHILOSOPHY
There's a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Room available at any time... and hopefully myself and my family will have the chance to "sleep around" soon.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Other than visiting friends in university and sleeping on their couches... not much yet! I've stayed in hostels, though, and like the experience of shared accommodation.
Interests
A lot of home reno... which I equally like to escape from, occasionally! Passionate about real estate, and, of course, raising my two babies. In a lot of ways your typical housewife, in a lot of ways totally different!

Music, Movies, and Books
Anything with young Robert Redford it. I read practically anything. Music tends to be anything poppy, but mostly I listen to CBC.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Giving birth to my two kids and watching them grow. My daughter learning French. White water rafting, snowshoeing in northern Quebec and swimming in a cenote in Mexico. Visiting Japan with my brother.
Teach, Learn, Share
You can't put milk AND lemon in your tea. The lemon will curdle the milk. Same guys for many acidic (berry) herbal teas. Milk is rarely a good idea.
Also, herbal tea (aka a tisane) is caffeine-free. It's pretty much made from anything BUT tea. Boil some lawn clippings and THAT is herbal tea (I do like herbal tea, FYI.) You can even drink catnip! It's LEGIT herbal tea, part of the mint family. Anyway, "real" tea is made from the tea plant, camellia sinensis. White, green and black tea (name comes from when picked and if roasted) comes from this plant, and they all contain caffeine unless decaffeinated.
