ABOUT ME

My name is Luis. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, but my parents are from Peru and Chile, so I guess that makes me a mutt. My mom, although born in Chile, was raised in Peru since age 4. As a result I spent a lot of my childhood in Peru, sometimes for months at a time, getting to know my family well. I have yet to visit Chile, but I hear the glaciers there are beautiful, and I would like to go. I learned Spanish before English, and I’m working on French. I like to be prepared. I am currently a student at Cal Poly University in Pomona, CA. I’m majoring in Sociology and, after some setbacks, will be getting my BA soon, although I wish I had gotten it sooner. I hope to go into social work once I’m done with school, but I am open to other opportunities that relate to my major and the human service field. I try to live by the philosophy that we are only given one life, and with it we should see and learn as much as possible. This is why I’m here.

PHILOSOPHY

From a sociological point of view, which I tend to have, people are the way they are because of their surroundings. With that said, it seems fitting that most of the things life has taught me have been from other people, places, and things. The way that I see the world is a tribute to the collective that has shaped my person. Change me, and I promise I will change you too. Ha!!
