About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm an economist, although not a typical one. Perhaps the most appropriate way to describe myself is as an professor-student-worker.

To be more specific, I am a graduate student at the Federal University of Porto Alegre (UFRGS) and my research areas are political economy and Latin America economic history. I really don't know what kind of thesis will be at the end, but from the moment I started the Economics Graduate Program onwards, each of my trips helped me to see and value what economists generally don't care so much: otherness.

Right now I begin a new moment of this "empirical" work of trips. I was selected as student and temporary researcher at ECLAC in Santiago (CEPAL, in portuguese and spanish), a United Nations commission for the economies of Latin America and the Caribbean. So, between 20th july and 30th september I will be at Santiago for 77 days. My intent isn't to stay all these days in the same house, but to move from time to time, depending on the availability my hosts.

Besides this academic thing, I am a football/soccer fan who love to score sometimes. I speak english, a little bit of french, spanish and german. Well, to be frankly, I am nearly fluent in portuguese and portunhol. The others I just try.

Poetry and music are other things that interest me. Maybe we could change some words and songs?

Teach, Learn, Share

What can I teach and learn?
It will be a pleasure to talk and listen a little bit of my research. Recently I started to study a bit of Tarot and its relation to psychology and psicoanalysis. It means that will be a pleasure to share this short kind of knowledge with my hosts. And I garantee: it makes total sense in scientific terms!

About learning, I have interest to practice my poor spanish, to read and hear some Chilean contemporary literature and music and, of course, to explore a few spots of la Cordillera.
