About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To expand my own universe by learning about and experiencing the universes of others!

ABOUT ME

Eudaimonia enthusiast.
Anais Nin reincarnated.

PHILOSOPHY

"Twese turi abana b'Imana"
(In Kinyarwanda, "We are all children of God").

The meaning of life is in Rachmaninoff's Concerto No. 2 :)

I live life in pursuit of utility. I believe in maximizing my usefulness to the world with the resources I have been given. Utility, in this case, is also synonymous with "happiness" - I want to decrease suffering and spread love through education and empathy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couchsurfed for the first time in December, and had the most amazing experience of Paris. At the moment, I am traveling, but I would love to grab coffee!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While I visited Paris in December, I had the pleasure of staying with an amazing host and also meeting up with two Parisian CSers. Midnight walks past the Eiffel tower, shopping at the St. Ouen market, and bedtime chats about life truly defined my CS experience.

Rachmaninoff Concerto No. 2, Pralines n' Cream (Haagen Daz ice cream flavor), www.thesatorialist.com, mangoes, "Stereo Love" by Edward Maya, pineapple malibu, anklets, running outside during thunderstorms, sharing life stories, samoyeds...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Met President Paul Kagame three times - first as a journalist in Chicago, then at the presidential cocktail with the Honorary Consul of Turkey, then as a Fulbright ETA. The third time, Kagame was joined by Bill Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, and Paul Farmer.

Playing piano at the Kigali Serena Hotel has led to interesting friendships with businessmen, ambassadors, and politicians, and also with celebrities such as Jason Derulo and Luol Deng.
