About Me

I'm 27 yo Italian chemistry student. When I was 17 I went in the Dominican Republic for a year as an AFS exchange student, in a host family. My family hosted 3 international students from the same organization for a year each, and various short-term stays. Since my return in Italy I've started volunteering as I felt the need to give back everithing I've learned from the experience, doing both support and training in Intercultural learning for participants. To be able to meet up with many people from all around the world is a privilege and worth much more than my work, I've never stopped learning from this.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it's an interesting idea that can place you in direct contact with the culture of country you are visiting and can be a rewarding experience for both host and traveler. Facing cultural differences should be an opportunity to grow.

Interests

I like hiking, sightseeing, science, good food, good wine, craft beer, latino dancing and anything that's fun and adventurous!

  • homebrewing
  • latin music
  • outdoor activities

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm gonna mention movies taken from books and comics, to cover both... my favourite ones involves serial killers (Silence of the lambs), superheroes (Watchmen), sci-fi (The martian), fantasy (LOTR).
I grew up reading all Jules Verne, and of course I love all adventure classics like Stevenson and Dafoe, and their cinematic adaptation too.
My favourite in comedy are the plays by Neil Simon.
TV: The Wire, The office or give me any nature documentaries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The historical carnival of Ivrea takes place every year in my hometown, every year I participate to the world famous orange battle. My humble opinion is that we have the most fun festival in the world!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd like to learn anything that would make me discover foreign cultures: language, music, food, art and history. I have good knowledge about my home country that I could share with whoever may be interested and I can cook Italian food for my hosts!

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Liechtenstein, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In

Dominican Republic, Italy
