About Me
“But when I shall have undergone the heroic fatigue of transcribing this history, and shall have brought it, as they say, to light, will anyone be found enough to endure the fatigue of reading it?” (The Betrothed, Alessandro Manzoni)
Another pain in the ***.
No.
Not this time.
Come with me.
I’ll bring you somewhere else.
This is a place where you have not been reading boring descriptions of people wanting to stay over, with no food at hand, where I’m not the 147th boring marketing expert, doing flips to convince you to give a pillow and a roof.
This is something else. A pause from all that crap.
Little intro first, only thing you need to know: I’m Luca. The most common name, in Italy.
Undeserved curse given for free at birth, what can you do.
Can you imagine how hard is for an average-IQ Italian to remember this name? Bet you do.
And that is why I’ll just try and make you remember it.
For example, I’ve just anagrammed it. Or the (1+4+7)th letter of the alphabet is L.
But let’s go back to the place where we were going.
Close your eyes. But keep reading.
The wind blows nicely, the sand moves slowly, seagulls in the horizon, an old juke box playing “Nel blu dipinto di blu”. Sunglasses on, mojito in your hand. Smell of pizza in the air.
OK, ok. Don’t move. You’re there. Do not move. Just relax.
Imagine now a guy named Luca, from the nice city of Turin, comes closer and starts to tell you about his passions: doing backflips on the grass, read Russian classics, skydiving, stuffing himself with chocolate, chatting with dogs, for hours, watching the dawn from rooftops.
He tells you about some of his crazy trips, drunk nights, makes you laugh with his incredible irony.
He asks you if you observe people and see beyond.
He tells you he’d studied ancient Greek and Latin back in the times, when he was in high school, with a little smile. That he dreamed of being an archaeologist one day, but ended up studying engineering, because sometimes life leaves no space for nice places like the one you’re into right now. He passes you one more fresh beer, tastes good. The sun colours the sea.
But then, all of a sudden. A thunder.
Clouds covering the sky. You are running inside, when Luca says: “I’m sorry! This place is not forever! it’s time to go, but don’t forget my name, right? Hope I’ll see you again”.
You will definitely not forget Luca, the guy you met in some faded dreams, and then in your cozy flat, in some place of the world.
