I come from a small town in north-eastern Italian Alps, I’m 27 years old and I have just got a Master degree in Classical Philology and Ancient History. In the last three years my life has changed considerably. Where to start from? Well, I studied in Ireland for one year, while there I lost my best friend, I travelled a lot, I met people from all over the world, I found love twice and twice lost it, I've worked in Poland, Tunisia, Georgia and Moldova, I saw the most shocking things and enjoyed real friendship, I experienced the deepest loneliness and the greatest excitement, and well, yes, eventually I have been dropped in Georgia again...who knows what the future holds for me.
Travelling is a sort of escape for me: escape from my small boring town, from reality, from myself, from the memories of people I lost. Well, take a look around: whatever problem you have, the world will keep spinning regardless of what you do. So why should you stop spinning instead? And after all, the world itself is more interesting than we individually are. There are needs that we cannot compare to our own and wonders that we cannot even conceive.
In one of my toughest moments, I would listen to a song which says: “I was thinking about how a careful man tries to dodge the bullets, while a happy man takes a walk”. Well, I guess I finally decided just to take a walk in this life.
