Overview
About Me
I am an easy-going traveler who cares deeply about the well being of others -- friends, strangers, acquaintances -- and I'm currently traveling around Europe before I start medical school at Boston University in August!
I was born in Brazil and moved to the United States during early adolescence. I finished middle school and high school in Maryland before moving to Boston for university. At Harvard, I was initially studying 'Chemical and Physical Biology' but later switched to 'Neurobiology' as a major.
During my travels and throughout my life, I've met incredible people hailing from vastly different backgrounds. I believe that this is one of the best ways to learn about the world, and these interactions have been among my most treasured! I'm always looking to try new things (foods, cultures, adventures) and I love the outdoors.
Cannot wait to meet wonderful fellow couchsurfers!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet amazing people as I travel the world! Much more authentic than a hotel/hostel, more adventurous, exciting, and cheaper! :D
Music, Movies, and Books
I love most music, but lately I've been listening to a lot of R&B, hip-hop, and Spanish music. I play the guitar and sing!
In terms of movies, I love comedies and dramas with complex plots. Christopher Nolan is my favorite director!
Lastly, books: When I was younger, I used to read a lot of young adult fiction like Harry Potter, The Lightning Thief, and other series. Nowadays, I read mostly nonfiction. My favorite books are probably "Sapiens: A brief history of humankind" by Yuval Noah Harari, "Being Mortal" by Atul Gawande, and "When Breath Becomes Air" by Paul Kalanithi
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've performed neurosurgery on rats before in order to research possible Parkinson's Disease mechanisms. If you're interested, ask me about it :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to share my knowledge of diverse subjects with other people, talk about the brain, teach some songs on the guitar, speak in different languages (portuguese, english, spanish, and french), and discuss books, movies, and music with you! I would love to learn more about your life and your interests.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Language, laughter, cooking, exercise, conversations about science, politics, history, music, books, movies, tv series, psychology, religion, and much more.
