About Me

Hi my name is Lucas. My dad is from England and my mum is from Malaysia, but I popped out in Hong Kong. I now live in London. I believe in life, love, health, happiness, miracles, and magic in the air.

I'm so happy you came by my profile. Life is beautiful and amazing! Everyday is a great day for something wonderful to happen.

3 years ago in December 2011, I had a spinal accident. The doctors and physios didn't think I could walk again, because I was first rendered unable to move from the neck down, but with hard work, dedication and a miracle, I surpassed expectations and can now move again *High five to that* :P!

I love speaking, interacting, and getting to know people. I'd love to see what fascinates you in your life, give a hand and get to know your hometown too. I would love a tour, as I get to see where you grew up through your eyes. And when you visit me, I'm definitely down to show you around.

I'm super clean, respectful and hygienic *It'll be like a ninja was there, hiya*.
I'm easy to get along with, so tell me your house rules, because your King of the Castle.

If I would qualify my self as a food. I would say, I'm a nut. A happy healthy nut, because I'm super engage with being healthy and happy.

I've been studying across human health from sports performance coaching, nutrition, exercise testing, pre-medicine, and physiotherapy. If you have a question, just ask me in person :D

I can't drink tea, coffee, or coca cola because of the caffeine, nor drink alcohol, because as tipsy people get happy feet, tipsy me, would probably be hugging the floor... probably not being able to move again. I'm fine with being straight edge though, because it enables me completely present to live the moment, and don't mind what other people do to enjoy themselves :)

Life is filled with many splendours and joy, it all comes down to how we see it.

With a 2nd chance at life, I want to give back to the world. I want to spread joy and happiness to everyone around me :)

So let me say, thank you for being apart of my life. I know we haven't met yet, but when we do, I know we're going to be amazing friends.

Smile, because you deserve it :D
xx Lucas

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I heard about this idea 8 years ago, but raised in a conservative family was not allowed to do it.

However, 8 years down the line, something in me is still tingling to get out there and meet amazing people *Kind of like the tingling sense that spiderman gets*. I know there's so much zest to life, and I want to squeeze every last drop of it.

I could stay in an isolated 4 squared room, but I rather be with a smiling face and happy heart, making fun experiences together! I know meeting you is going to be awesome, because only awesome people get involved in such a community :D Let's bring the world closer together <3

Interests

I love life, learning new things, laughing till I fall on the floor, loving the world and all its beauty:
-Smiling because it's just a damn good day :)
-Laughing so hard I cry
-Hugging and feeling a sense of care
-Dancing like no one's watching, and if they watch, get them to all dance with me :D
-Swimming because it clears my mind
-Drinking milk because it tastes like ice cream
-Ice cream because it tastes so yummy
-Extreme sports like skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding, wake boarding, snakeboarding, and skim boarding. Anything with a board, even ironing *haha, got to stay fresh*
-Sports though I can't do them anymore because I'm a fragile jelly man. Though I can swim, hike, and run if a boulder is chasing me like Indiana Jones
- Eating, because food cooked from the heart warms the heart
- Making new friends like you! And seeing what makes you happy
- Exploring and seeing the world in amazement
- Being silly to free that kindred spirit of a child :)
- Submerging into cultures, so I can get a feeling what it's like to be one of the natives
- Learning languages, so I can try see the world through the eyes of others. I learnt a couple, but forgot them after not speaking them for years, like French, Turkish and Dutch
- Continuous education, because life is about learning, applying and sharing to make it a better place
- Health, because it's the most important thing in the world. Without health we can't do anything else :P I've broken like everything in my bone in my body besides my hip *knock on wood*. Some of my friends say I'm accident prone, I say I'm healing prone *haha*. I'm addict to healing :P ... and yes, I'm still healing from a broken face, but at least my exterior looks good *haha*
- Having Fun :D

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I love to dance, so we're going to have to turn the music up :D
Festivals and concerts is a must do! I love all music, and I'm not joking.
I love:
- Happy music because it makes me smile and shake my bootayy*
- Punk rock from skateboarding
- Alternative for chilling
- Hip Hop for dancing
- RnB for chilling and grooving
- Jazz for enjoy the moment
- Ska and Reggae for surfing
- Opera because it reminds me of my grandpa
- Classical music, because it helps me think
- Country because it's down to earth and reminded me when I spent Thanksgiving in Texas
- I have the radio on usually wherever I am, so I can get into the groove of the city

Movies: It's not glue I'm sitting on, I love movies, I watch almost all the time :)
I'm a sucker for Action, Adventure, Comedy and Romance. It doesn't have to be in the same film, but any of them would get me going. My favourite action film is The Raid 2, while my favourite adventure films are Into the Wild, The Bucket List, and Motorcycle Diaries. As for comedy films, I always laugh when I watch The Stupids, and last but not least, my favourite romantic film is Love Actually.

Documentaries are a must see. I love documentaries on health, life, and finding one's self. BBC, David Attenborough and independent documentaries are the best.

Books: I usually read 2-3 books a week.
I love books that touch on life and philosophy. Tuesdays with Morrie made me cry *I tried not to use the book to wipe my tears*, The Last Lecturer continued making me cry *I don't think I was cutting onions this time*, and The Way of The Peaceful Warrior. I swear I'm not a person to cry, but I love life too much and didn't want to let go *Oh my, pass the tissues. I think I'm starting to get dehydrated*

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I learnt how to walk again, even when no one believed in me.

If you think no one believes in you, think again. Because I do! Big love and sending good vibes :) ~

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe in paying it forward. I want everyone to be happy :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Let's have fun experiences together.
- I hope you love eating, because I love cooking *yummy yummy in the tummy*. We can do groceries together. And of course cleaning comes next. I'm down to help, because I'm super clean :)
- Let's explore the city together and get lost in the moment!
- We can speak in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, or German if you like, or just go into a staring contest, but please no throwing sand in my eye, it's so hard to clean!
- I can help out around the house. Taking care of children is cool too, I love the pure exuberant joyful and happiness they give out.
- I can tell you stories of when I went to a performing arts school just for the skatepark. The time I had to do human testing in Hawaii, because I wanted to swim with dolphins and turtles. The time I took a 6 hour road trip to go to a restaurant, serendipitously dancing on the roof of a hotel and ... you're going to have to find out.

- Oh, and I've worked across the health professions for 10 years if you have a question that I could help answer, I'd love to :)

We're going to have a blast, ask me anything :) Even how life brought us together at this point. Life's spectacular, it always has a plan of it's own, and always seems to amaze :) There's magic in everyday life :D
