My name is Lucas, I´m 23 years old, and I´m a very easy-going guy from Brazil. I´m from São Paulo and right now I´m finishing my gradutation in International Relations at the University of São Paulo. I'm passionate about singing (I sing since I was very little), Histoty and politics. I also love to dance (especially latin rithyms), chat and meet new people. I am a very open minded person and I always try to undress myself of me preconceptions whenever I´m going to a new place and meeting new people...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My motivation to join Couch Surfing is first of all becasue it enables me to get in contact with people from different cultures, backgorunds and countries. I´m crazy about the ideia of visiting new places, sometimes very different from my home, and diving in it´s culture and atmosphere. For me being hosted at someone´s home, getting to know the person and the place I'm visitng trhoughout the person´s perspective is a way more rich experience than being a random acpetic turist. I really believe that intercultural experiences are important and very formative. Second of all I appreciate the idea of people helping each other and forming networks based on solidarity and friendship.

I love music. Singing is my passion and I must dance every once in a while.. haha. I love brazilian musicians such as Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Milton Nascimento, Tom Jobim, Edú Lobo, Vinícius de Morais, Belchior, Clara Nunes, Dorival Caymi, Elza Soares, Maria Rita, Elis Regina, Gal Costa, Maria Betânia, Alceu Valença, Cássia Eller, Ney Matogrosso, Banda Uó, Liniker, As Bahias e a Cozinha Mineira, Johnny Hooker, etc. I also have a sweet spot for pop music such as Maddona and Beyoncé. Besides all that I also like Pink Floyd, Beatles, Janis Jopling, Florance & the Machine, Esperanza Spalding and so on. In the past couple years I discovered a passion for arabic music too... At the end of the day I'm very open to descover new thing musicwise and be moved by it, because music is one of the things that moves me the most.

Teach, Learn, Share

Can teach you a little about Brazil (even some portuguese) and how to make one of our traditional drinks (caiprinha). I can sahre somethings I know, and love, about history - especially brazilian, latin america's and history of the middle east. I can also teach you how to sing some brazilian songs, how to dance some brazialian music and how to play some percusion instruments... :)
