Hi, I'm Lucas - or Luke if you want. I'm born and raised in Canada, near to Toronto, but I'm also German. I've been living in Spain for close to a year, but embarrassingly my Spanish is still not usable - except in emergencies.

I'm pretty quiet, calm, simple. I like reciprocal conversations - listening to people talk about that thing they want to talk about, and being listened to in return.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm still learning about the couchsurfing experience. My one surfing experience was great, and I would have used it more, but I normally don't plan my travels more than 30 minutes in advance. I don't have a couch at the moment, but I'll hopefully fix that soon.

I only need a couch to lose consciousness on - I won't impose further. If you want to hang out - that's cool too!

Interests

I'm working on Phd applications related to a software engineering project, but a degree in philosophy, or geopolitics would be equally interesting. Or forget academia and do investigative journalism.. Too much to learn for one lifetime.

Music, Movies, and Books

Recently listening to Victor Jara and Silvio Rodriguez. Bob Dylan. Yes, I should read more books. And for the most part I don't watch movies, but if I were to watch one, it would be historical or a 'foreign film' - pop culture ain't my thing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent two months traveling on my bicycle in eastern Canada, living in a tent. I covered over 3000km, and almost did it vegetarian.. almost.
