About Me

ABOUT ME

I am a very easy going guy who likes to let life lead me by the hand, because I trust that as long as I am doing my best to be the best person I can be, I will be ok. I spent most of my life in New York, and have worked there in fashion, as a photo editor, and as an interior designer. I am very arts oriented, and enjoy all sorts of "cultural" things like museums, performances, shows, anything that is stimulating to the senses. I take pictures ALL THE TIME, and I love it. I enjoy being around open minded people. I am a great listener and love to hear people's stories about life. I try above all to be present in my every day actions, to live life without reserve and to keep focused on peace, beauty, and happiness.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live...do onto others...love and honesty.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I have a home I try to host (sometimes I am a vagabond so I don't have a place) but I am always very open to meeting new people who are traveling too, or just emailing them info about the "hidden spots" that a local would know about in NYC, Beijing, Paris, Berlin...these are the places that I've lived.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am speechless when I think about all the amazing experiences I have had thus far couchsurfing. The people I met have all been in one word, amazing. They opened their doors and arms to me and I in return tried my best to give back. I have met some of the most wonderful beautiful people via couchsurfing, lifelong friends, and had unforgettable memories. I think couchsurfing is just wonderful and I am grateful for it all the time! CS eventually finds itself into almost all introductions whenever I meet new people because it has not only brought new new friends but also job opportunities as an artist!

Interests

Photography, eating out, cooking dinner with friends, museums, dance performances, traveling (of course!), hanging out with friends, going to the movies by myself, working out, yoga, random acts of indulgence!

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh gee...lots of classical, but I also love to dance to House and Pop music. I watch a lot of "foreign cinema"...mostly French and Italian, but also Asian cinema is great. I am currently reading a lot of Buddhist texts and finding it so calming. One of my favorite things though is to take other people's music whenever I visit them so I can get a taste of what cool people listen to all over the world!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was detained overnight in Istanbul for 18 hours in a room without windows with three other strangers...it was quite interesting.

I've been to the world's deepest canyon...in Peru.

I was so late for a flight in India that they sat me in 1st class and I ended up sitting next to someone who then offered me a job to photograph a UNESCO world heritage site.

Through CS I met someone who feels more like a long lost sibling than a friend, and then moved to China for a year to hang out with him and work for Ai Weiwei.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can't say I'm an expert about photography and art but I do know a lot about it since it is my biggest passion in life...so if you are curious to know more about these things then ask away! Or as one of my good friend says to me sometimes..."Lucas, NOT EVERYONE wants to hear you talk about some art thing...even if it IS super interesting..." haha!

What I Can Share with Hosts

My insatiable curiosity about the world we live in and the people and cultures around me. Stories about my travels. If you are up for it my cooking :)
