Overview
About Me
Hello! I'm Lucas Bozzo, an Italian-Canadian recent graduate in history and globalization at the University of Bologna. Besides history, I am passionate about arts and culture, food, politics, philosophy, psychology, and travelling! I cook and talk about food voraciously and am a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. I am naturally curious and creative, a calm listener, a careful speaker, a deep feeler, and a friendly, polite, clean, and grateful person to be around.
I was born and raised in Toronto and moved to Italy in October 2019 on a whim after being awarded the possibility of studying in Bologna on scholarship. I now live and work in Amman, Jordan, advising a women's empowerment organization on research and communications and am looking forward to meeting nice traveller friends through Couchsurfing!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Travel transcends sightseeing and the phenomenon of tourism. It is about connecting with a territory, people, history, and culture and finding beauty and humanity in them, along with a deeper understanding of the world and ourselves.
I am on Couchsurfing with the hope of sharing such connecting adventures and experiences with travellers and hosts worldwide.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favourite music: indie rock, bedroom pop, electronic music, ambient, contemporary classical, experimental music.
Favourite movies: Call Me By Your Name, Her, 500 Days of Summer, The Tree of Life, Moonlight, Boyhood, Before Sunrise, Up, Spirited Away.
Favourite books: Forget Sorrow by Belle Yang, The Myth of Sisyphus by Albert Camus, the Tao, Gravity and Grace by Simone Weil.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spontaneously lived for a summer with a beautiful family in Ferrara that I met randomly on the internet. They are now a kind of second family. It was a life-changing experience that exposed me to approaches to familial love, happiness, generosity, and friendship that I had not experienced before.
I hope to have similarly fun and enlightening experiences with Couchsurfing!
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: recipes of all imaginable varieties, everything I know about Bologna, practice with Italian or English.
Learn: your story, your city's food traditions and history, your language, your culture, your life experience.
Share: conversation, food, friendship, and adventures. I will be writing my MA thesis but would love to connect, cook, and explore Bologna together!
