My name is Joan Lucas. I am a very social (a little bit shy at first), easy going person who likes to meet new people and enjoy new experiences. I like sports, camping, hanging out with friends, computer science, just to mention a few of my interests.

I've been volunteering my whole adult life. My main focus is in non-formal education. I enrolled in the boy scouts when I was 8 and I became a scouts educator in 2014 until 2020. Being a scout shaped me to be the human I am today.
In 2013 I also started volunteering for YFU which is a non-profit organization that promotes understanding between cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It is a great way to get to know locals that love traveling as much as I do. Not only to find accommodation but to find events and people that are in the same situation as you. Also an opportunity to share my culture with people from all over the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I grew up watching disney so I listen to Jonas brothers, Miley Cyrus, Harry Styles and all the mainstream pop music basically but I enjoy all types of music. I really like live music with time I realized that even if I do not know the artist I always have a great time when I go to concerts o even small bars with live music.

My two favorites movies are inception and high school musical. I won't mention more about this, I think that tells you a lot about my taste in movies haha
I also really enjoy those terrible Christmas movies that most of the time don't make sense, just entertainment without thinking much.

I like to cook so I can cook some Uruguayan dishes. I also can share about my culture and I will for sure be interested about yours. I can also tell you about my travels around Europe.
