Hi guys!

I'm a Dutch guy planning to travel the world myself. Just a little more studying to do before I have some time off. When I'm not studying I like to go cycling a lot, play the drums or prepare for trekking trips I do in summer. If everything else fails, I can enjoy reading a good book, preferably thrillers.

In the weekends I work in an outdoor store where I talk with customers about their upcoming holidays and I advice them on a new backpack, walking shoes or any other outdoor gear. It's very rewarding to help people plan their next trip.

Last but not least: I'm always in for something new. I'm very curious for new things to happen and I'm open to everything that may or may not cross my path.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Basically, because I'd like to help people out looking for a place to crash. Someday, when time is on my side, I'll be looking for a host too and I'm hoping that someone out there returns the favor. I'd be interested in the stories of my guests: where they come from, why they are in Eindhoven and what life they are living. I don't necessarily need to become best friends immediatly, but I have a general interest in all new people I meet as the stories enrich me too.

Interests

I love to go trekking and cycling. When I'm bored, I simply take my MTB and go for a spin. In summer, I usually plan a big hike (2 weeks) in Scandinavia or the UK, put on my shoes and go for it. It takes a lot of planning, but the trip is so rewarding.

Apart from sports, I really like music. Who doens't, right?! I play the drums and trumpet and I play in an orchestra, a band and a brass band. I like listening to all kinds of music, but especially to bands like Kiss, Iron Maiden, Van Halen and the lot.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like listening to hard rock and to some metal, like Kiss and Iron Maiden. I also like funky jazz music such as Too Many Zoos.

The movies I enjoy are very different from each other. I like fantasy like the Lord of the Rings, I crave the action from the Bourne Series, but I'm also in for some drama such as Ladder 49. But most of the times, I can be found watching series. Friends, HIMYM, Suits, House of Cards, Game of Thrones and Shameless are series I really enjoy(ed) a lot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the summer of 2014 I've spent six weeks backpacking through Eastern Europe on my own. I've had some great experiences and saw a lot of stuff which I will carry with me forever.
