I think on one hand- to be honest, it's very cheap but on the other hand, which is way more important - you learn so much. You meet new people , see different perspectives while staying at a place. You're just not a tourist, you live for a while like a local, even if it's a few days or more it's just an amazing experience and you make new friends.
