About Me

I am currently enjoying a life of a master's student in Berlin, studying economics and hoping that in the future I can use my knowledge to contribute to improvements in my home country.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've finally reached the stage where I can afford to travel as I always wished to. I used to listen to my friends stories of the their couchsurfing experiences (both as guests and hosts) and I felt it can be a very interesting and enriching way to get to know the place and new people.

Interests

My interests vary as I like trying out new things and some of them get idle because of life circumstances, but in general - I like painting (mainly people), playing bassguitar although I am not very good at it, learning to dance swing and belly dance, reading popular physics and being happy if I understand at least a tiny bit and doing yoga as it makes me happy instantly.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite section here but I will try to keep it short :)

Let's start with music: I like funky-rock-jazzy-electro combinations (currently indulging myself with Bonobo and Cinematic Orchestra), visiting a big festival in the summer is always a highlight of my year.
The music I love dancing to: klezmer and balkan (there better be a live band playing this at my wedding), electro-swing, funky and drum&bass.

I am a huge movie fan and very often trying to search for interesting, thought-provoking movies with good acting. Be it South Korean films (Oldboy, Kim Ki-Duk's movies), Hollywood Oscar winners (Good Will Hunting, Christopher Nolan's, Aronofsky's movies), Scandinavian dramas (Millenium or Hunt) or Czech cinema (Directors: Sverak, Hrebejk, Slama)

Books - just few examples: 100 Years of Solitude, Catch 22, the works of Haruki Murakami, Hermann Hesse, Tolkien, Pratchett

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I left my first stable job and moved to the city I've dreamt about for 3 years :)
