About Me

I'm currently traveling alone! Bruno is not coming to this trip.
I'm vaccinated.

I am Lucía, from Argentina. I love to meet new people, understand different cultures and discover new places. It's not for the fact of having more stamps on a passport, but for the pure and simple interest in going deep in what societies are like. What I enjoy the most is the exchange of experiences and points of views, which ends only in expanding knowledge and opening our minds to diversity.
I've studied History at Univeristy and specialized in Latin America. So if you are courious about my continent, I'll be happy to talk about it. I also write and take photographs and have a project about humans around the world called Mundanos (www.mundanos.net or @_mundanos) which reflects a little bit of all that.

Bruno is in most of my last references too. He is studying public policies in the Netherlands now, and he knows many languages and plays the guitar too. We both love trying dishes from around the world and we like cooking so much.
We love adventure, we have traveled quite a lot and we enjoy being inside nature. We are both very sociable (you'll see hahah) and curious. I'd say we are mostly very adaptable. I am also an art fan and love movies.

PHILOSPHY

Trust people.
I think there are other ways of living in the world and I'm eager to prove it. I'm doing my best to discover how other societies work to say to mine: hey, we are able to change. The planet needs it. There are lots of communities that work differently and lots of people building their own path, fighting their own monsters, doing what they love, believing in change and doing something about it. That's what's valuable. Not accepting what shouldn't be accepted.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love CS. I've been using it for a while. Unluckily, when we returned home after a long trip through Mexico and China, the pandemic started and the borders in Argentina closed, so we were unable to host when we had more space for doing so (which left me sad actually). Anyway, I love both hosting and traveling, sharing a little bit of our houses with others is a of a strong trust.
Cs has been a door to others and to different societies. Without this great tool, I'd been unable to get deep in the countries I've been too. I wouldn't have made so many friends, and I would have just had a very superficial idea of the places we were at. I think CS has changed a lot through this years and I'm very sad to see many people are using it for free acommodation or as Tinder. It's okay if you need it sometimes and I'm okay if your real purpose is saving some money, I've been there too, but I like it when it still keeps the idea of cultural exchange it originally had.

Interests

I'm a passionate photographer and a passionate writer. I am currently learning Capoeira, doing qi gong and I'm a huge fan of mountain hiking.
Last but not least, I like to cook. I enjoy trying and learning new recipes.

Been to the Amazon Jungle.
Lived in different countries for a while.
Met a lot of cool people through this app who actually became friends.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well I wouldn't promise this. I believe I'm open to seeing what happens in each experience.
But oficially, I can teach Spanish and share my passion for photography.
I'd love to have a most immersive experience in the culture I'm visiting.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to share a meal, a drink or a nice conversation. If it's possible, I would love to see no touristic spots of your place with you. I don't like CS as a hostel/hotel, and we will always be respectful to your house rules. We really use it as an intercultural exchange opportunity and a way of giving and receiving that humanity should practice more.
