About Me
In mid-June 2015 I have started my worldwide trip as per my description below. In July however, I got back home very ill and quite tired. I decided to change my research method a little, in that I wish to stay over here for a while and receive those of you who would visit this forgotten corner of the world and find out from you directly about your culture. In January 2016 I am preparing to resume my travels, hence I shall not be receiving guests until I return to my sweet home later in the year.
I'm awake, I'm aware and I'm sharing what I know with like-minded people. I call myself a citizen of this wonderful world and I don't like being categorized. The best values in a person are integrity, compassion and empathy. I believe we are all united in the spiritual dimension of life, whether we know it or not and we are here to make this world a better one, for us and our future generations.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I lived in China, I wished for more friends to come and witness the beauty of that part of the world, so I offered my couch to visitors.
This year I'm planning to set off on a memorable journey to verify that universal connection, that vital interdependence and essential oneness of humankind. I just turned 50 and I am planning for my 50ieth birthday to be celebrated in 50 little parties, with new friends I make along the way, in 50 countries, in 50 weeks and then write a book about it, showing how people in various cultures tackle the challenge of creating and maintaining a sustainable planet.
Interests
In terms of output, I wish to allow my creativity to surface - I am planning to switch my professional focus from teaching to writing in the medium future. In terms of input, I am currently studying Tibetan, hoping to live over there in the future, and probably translate Buddhist texts into English.
Other interests: reading, travelling, the Akashics and transcendental meditation.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love classical music: Chopin, Bach, Tchaikovsky, but also Elton John, Roger Waters, Adiemus, Katie Melua, Joaquin Sabina, Jake Thakray. I learnt the Argentinian tango in Calle Florida, in Buenos Aires.
I never pass an Almodovar film, and I enjoyed Cloud Atlas, Nuestro Hogar, The Best Marigold Hotel, Spooks, Flashforward, Lucky Number Slevin & many others!
I like reading Jorge Luis Borges, Carlos Ruiz Zafon, Kazuo Ishiguro, Paulo Coelho...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Coming from a communist regime and a very strict family, I studied languages and I managed to explore the cultures across three continents during the first half of my life. I just started the second half, with increased enthusiasm!
Teach, Learn, Share
My profession is teaching and I am an avid lifetime learner - what a great combination! Officially I teach English and personally I share my life experiences, love and humbleness.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My home, my food and my spirit. My effort to bring the world a little bit more together in a safe and friendly way. My thanks as well, to all the people who come and go and try to leave the place a little bit better than they find it.
Enjoy the multitude of experiences you wouldn't otherwise have, if it wasn't for a visitor knocking on your door. Embrace diversity.
