About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to make the most of what is
ABOUT ME
i've recently moved back to cape town, after more than 12 years of living, studying and working in mozambique, switzerland, canada and panama. it is amazing to be back in beautiful cape town, and i'll be happy to show anyone around - on weekends :)
i love travelling, probably because i lived in lots of different places, and plan to continue to! i also love my work area, sustainability and environmental issues: there is so much to be done! i am open-minded and curious.
PHILOSOPHY
there is so much to be discovered out there, why stop, if you can keep moving around?
and this, which is not my invention, but i think is what should lead everyone's life:
"Love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we'll change the world". Jack Layton
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
i travel a lot for work, and have a bit of a crazy schedule, so hosting is a bit difficult for now. however, if i am around, i'm happy to show you around cape town and chat, and may be able to offer you a couch for a couple of nights.
*** unfortunately up to april 2015 it will be unlikely i will be very active on CS, as i have family visiting and am house-sitting myself***
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
i started couchsurfing during my two-month trip in india, alone! what an amazing discovery ... met really interesting, varied, always hospitable people, that i would have never come across otherwise. and it was so great to know there was someone waiting for me, at the end of my bus or train trip... my time in india was that much richer as a result of CS!
Interests
am into yoga, swimming, reading, hiking, diving, chatting about lots of different topics, from politics and globalisation, to your favourite desserts and movies, going out and dancing the night away, cooking... i also practice "breathing", through a technique taught by the art of living foundation. as you can notice, i don't like to type capital letters.

Music, Movies, and Books
i love the cinema, whatever is non-hollywood will make me happy
books, i wish i had more time to read... one of the most recent books i really enjoyed was "the god of small things"
electronic and world music, indie and alternative too
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
-working in the middle of nowhere in communities in mozambique with no water, electricity or where some kids had not seen white people before (and so started crying, oops)
-kayaking with whales in panama
- meditating every day... takes you on pretty crazy trips sometimes
Teach, Learn, Share
can definitely teach about some italian cooking; we can do yoga together; or i can tell you all about how important mangroves are (yes, they are trees...)
