About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Exploring what the world has to offer.

ABOUT ME

I am fun and spontaneous but also love quiet time reading and hiking/all outdoor sports. I enjoy being healthy and trying to live a positive life. I have just quit my job working for a non-profit in banking education. (Assisting banks to understand their educational needs in risk management). Prior to this I was a special needs teacher and tutor. I still tutor and babysit and teach Sunday school at my local church once a month. I run a charity that collects unwanted toiletries and toilet paper from corporates and distributes them to local homeless shelters. I lived in Boston, MA, USA for seven years and have been back in London for 5 years.

Hmmm... So a bit about hobbies... I do like to throw a wicked dinner party or two so I can help out with cooking :) I used to do lots of sports and outdoor activities before I busted my knee. I was on crutches for almost a year but have been off them for 6 months and love walks and dancing to help build up my strength again. I have swam with sharks, jumped out of a plane, run a half marathon and caught my own piranha for breakfast. Would love to learn how to scuba dive, surf and fly a plane. I enjoy reading and gardening in my down time. I have my own flat I rent out so I'm pretty handy with diy and weeding a garden. Oh... And I love to travel and meet new people and have new experiences.

PHILOSOPHY

Life isn't to be taken for granted, rather to be grasped with both hands. There is so much to see and do and I want my life to be full of fun, knowledge, memories. I don't want to regret that I haven't done something because I was too scared to try.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can host CSers in London through to the 1st of Feb 2016. after that I will be travelling the world for a year. Including NZ, Oz, SE Asia, (I hope Japan), west cost USA and Central America (southern South America also if my money doesn't run out!). I can also take surfers around London, happy to help them out, I love rediscovering my city. I plan to accept surfers again when I return.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed in Budapest, in Rome, in Munich. I've been tour guide or pub quiz buddy or coffee chat for surfers from Kenya, Nigeria, America, India, Budapest, Singapore. Hosted surfers from Nigeria, Argentina, USA, France. Wonderful times all of them.

Interests

I enjoy exploring new places, meeting new people, trying new food, running, watching crazy bad movies, sci-fi, aerial acrobatics, dancing, going to balls or out for a quiet drink with friends, exploring woods, kayaking hiking, and then after i have done all that sitting in bed reading (I really love reading!)/watching tv on my laptop with a glass of wine/hot chocolate and just being :)
