About Me

Currently on a 2-month travel from Sofia via Istanbul, eastern Turkey and then to Georgia, Armenia and on to Russia crossing the Caucasus. Just finished my masters degree and love to use the summer break for a new travel adventure after being locked in during the pandemic.

Student of Politics, mainly international ones. Just completed my masters with stays in Moscow and Berlin. Actually was in Russia until this February, when all this mess started. While I found great pleasure in my studies, during my MA thesis I got really bored of all the reading. So now I really want to see more of the places I read about and soak them in: their art, their music, nature, weather, people, food, history, ethnics, newspaper, cities, cars, beers, dances, bars….

Whatever I come across I usually find something that fascinates me. So whatever you are happy to share with me about your city, I’ll gladly take it in.

As a host:
Please don’t write a message without my name. It just is really impolite. Also it feels great to find a reference to my profile in the message. I believe there are points enough to do so.

Time to pay back: I spent two months a year ago Couchsurfing in Russia, Turkey and Iran. I’ve had some great hosts and am curious to see which people come to Berlin.
Sergej Lukyanenko has written a novel - Spectrum - where space travel is possible but comes at the price of one interesting story a time. Everyone has at least one interesting story, the story of their life. So everyone can get away, but some people get stuck on other planets because they fail to do something worth telling there.
I find this concept somewhat intriguing and I think that traveling folks have an easier time telling a good story.

—- so pay me with a good Story, that’s the best. ——

(And beer if you can afford it🙃)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I always make a difference between tourism and traveling. And CS is clearly part of the latter. Nowadays I don’t even bother to buy a lonely planet. Quite the opposite to lonely, it only takes me to places where a million other Germans, Australians and Americans have been. Nothing against these people, actually I like them quite a bit. But is just a lot richer travel experience to follow a raw planned route and then listen to suggestions you get on the way.

Also I had only good experiences with hitchhiking in the past. CS seems like a natural extension of this way of traveling. So, yeah. Excited to get into the world with CS.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don’t know: buying my first SIM card in Russian felt like a pretty amazing accomplishment.

Teach, Learn, Share

Learned to play the French horn for 9 years while growing up. But soon realized that it simply was to big to carry around while traveling. So this year I finally managed to start learning the harmonica. Gladly share whatever I have picked up so far.
Spending a year in New Orleans i learned a fair bit about dancing to jazz. But that is mostly improvised. Only on lindy hop I can show the counts, steps etc. But it is a really fun dance. Also happy to cook a hearty and tasty Jambalaya (popular dish in New Orleans with Rice, shrimp, etc.)
By no means am I a master photographer, but over the past travels I picked up some things. So if you wanted to get more into manual photography I easily can help with terms like exposure, aperture, shutter speed etc.
also started to get interested in drone videography?just a new and amazing feature.
