Resumen
Sobre mí
I am a nomadic kiwi, brought up exploring Aotearoa by station wagon, bus and house truck, i always held this exploration in my heart and have spent the majority of the past 8 years exploring south and central america, the west coast of the united states, a little bit of europe, and Aotearoa, my homeland.
I am passionate about good, local, organic food, being aware of what we consume and how we impact our environment.I have always made my way working with recycled materials, and in the past 3 years been delving into the world of building and creating with wood and earth. I love natural building and am a strong advocate for healthy, non-toxic, naturally built small homes. I firmly believe we don't need to use copper, chromium and arsenic in our houses! I have spent a large portion of my time helping with natural and tiny house builds, as well as converting sweet little campervans and buses for folks wanting to become more nomadic. I also have a deep love of natural plant medicine and wild edibles.
Theres always more, but thats most forefront in my mind right now :)
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
I normally spend a lot of my time wwoofing on organic lands and projects so do not use couch surfing as much as I could be, although for this time in Aus I will be exploring the south-eastern coast of aus with my sister and would love to meet some sweet humans along the way.
I first discovered couch surfing because once upon a time, many years ago, I lived in Wellington, in a house I shared with 3 friends. One day my flatmates and I decided we would like to own a couch. So we proceeded down to the Salvation Army and bought a BEAUTIFUL red couch set. A 3 seater and a 2 seater set that could be placed together to create 1 gigantic, long, 5 seater couch. We carried this couch up the 160 something steps to our house and set it up very nicely in our living room.
For a while, all was well. But after a few weeks we realised our couch was enjoying our company during the day, but at night time it must be extremely lonely. We decided something had to be done, it needed to be shared! :) In the 2 years that we lived in that flat we met such an awesome range of humans, and it was these humans who added the final inspiration to my desire to travel. I left that home as I left the country.
